Timing
This year the Santos Great Bike Ride for Charity has adopted new technology for timing. As in previous years in your participant pack you will received a participant number/sticker. Instead of receiving a timing band, the timing chip is now attached to your participant number/sticker - DO NOT remove this timing chip from the bike sticker.
This sticker is to be wrapped around your seat post - click here for example. It is important that this sticker is wrapped around your seat post if you wish to receive a time. Do not cut the sticker or change the shape in any way, if you do so then you may alter the timing chip and fail to receive a time.
Do not swap your participant sticker with any other rider – not even other members in your team. Each participant sticker is assigned to one rider only and you will not receive your correct time otherwise.
At the end of the ride, once you have passed the finish line mats, you are free to remove the sticker from your bike and dispose in the nearest rubbish bin. Please think of our environment and do not litter.
If you misplace your participant number sticker before the event, you must go to the event shop to obtain a replacement - a fee will be charged for issuing a replacement participant number. Those riders without a sticker on their bike will be asked to leave the course - ALL riders must have their participant number with them at all times during the event. Those who arrive without their participant number will not be able to ride in the event.
Event Photos
Aussies in Action is a professional photographic business dedicated to capturing the best possible action photos in all types of sport. Our attitude is that “every participant is a champion” - we aim to photograph every participants performance.
Kevin, the chief photographer with 20+ years professional experience, works with a team of photographers. He shares his knowledge and experience of capturing the unique moments of so many different sports – ensuring that we have the right people in the right place at the right time.
Your photos are individually cropped, colour balanced and optimized for exposure. Our graphics team will customize your poster, team photo, souvenir print or anything else that you can imagine.
Aussies in Action will be present in several locations at the Santos Great Bike Ride for Charity. They can capture your ride from start to finish.
How to be one of the 5000 participants that gets photographed:
- When you collect your participant pack from The Santos Great Bike Ride for Charity Event Shop, locate the Aussies in Action flyer included in the pack.
- Attached to that flyer will be a sticker; attach this sticker to your helmet at the front so it is visible for spectators. This sticker indicates to the photographers on the course that you want to be photographed, so they will especially look out for these participants.
Aussies in Action will also provide opportunities at the finish line for your group (corporate, social, sporting or other) to have a team photo. No prior organising needed, just meet Wendy at the Aussies in Action information desk (near the event information desk) on event day with your team and the rest can be organised on the spot.
