The Santos Great Bike Ride for Homeless Youth is excited to introduce a NEW intermediate distance to the schedule in 2015 – the 29km Port to Perth.
By the name, you may have already guessed that 29km Port to Perth will start at Fremantle Port, taking participants for a ride along the Fremantle foreshore to the Left Bank making a right up Andrews Rd to join the other Santos Great Bike Ride for Homeless Youth participants along Canning Hwy. Participants in the 29km Port to Perth will follow the traditional course along the south side of the Swan River, joining the Kwinana Freeway at Canning Bridge, riding along Mill Point Road through South Perth over the Causeway to finish at the City of Perth Event Village.
The 29km Port to Perth will start at a later time of 8.45am giving want to be participants the extra sleep-in that they may have missed with our other events.
This 29km event is for the social riders, who would like to join the Santos Great Bike Ride for Homeless Youth in the past but haven’t had a distance that suits their capabilities or desires. The 29km distance makes it achievable and is a leisurely start to your Sunday morning.
This event will feature to water stops for participants to stop and refill their bottles; as well as the most scenic part of the Santos Great Bike Ride for Homeless Youth Course.
Online Entry Fee$50 per participant + Booking Fee – this includes the Event T-shirt.
Participants can upgrade to receive an Event Jersey for an additional $30 per entry.
Age RestrictionsRiders must be at least 12 years of age on the event date (22 November 2015) to ride their own bike.
Start TimeThe 29km Port to Perth will start at 8.45am. Participants must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to line up in their start groups and receive an event briefing.
Participants are asked to self-seed on the start line for one mass start. If you are an accomplished rider and would like to ride fast, please start at the front of the pack. If you are planning to have a leisurely ride, please start towards the back of the group. The self-seeding direction must be followed to by the best of your ability; this is to ensure the safety of all riders in the event.

SuitabilityThe 29km Port to Perth is for all cyclists. Individuals, families (children over twelve years of age) and corporate or social teams who can cycle 29km are all welcome. It is designed specifically to suit social and leisure riders who would like a relaxing start to their Sunday morning.
